Yesterday, AWAKE held a BBQ to celebrate the end of our fantastic year of Bible study. Turns out, we devoured those hamburgers and sausages on the beach, a perfect opportunity to watch the sun go down!
Of course, Thursday had to be one of the coldest days this month! Seriously, you’d think that Scotland got the memo it’s May but, no. We stood out in the blasting wind and huddled around a fantastic bonfire, Pastor Liam gave us a wee overview of the highlights of Romans, and then had a time of praise and worship. It was all so beautiful: watching the sun fade over the horizon whilst singing praises to the God who created it.
I should mention, before our group set out for West Sands, we gathered in our leaders’ flat and had a final meeting. Preparing for the summer, everyone shared their plans and prayer requests. I know we will keep in touch. My group gave me not one, but two cards – all signed by beautiful women God has placed in my path! I have cherished my Bible study time so much this semester, made a hundred times more precious thanks to the people.
Thursday finished up with a proper country walk around a local village - which totally looked like Hobbiton! – and then a proper film night - watching Sense and Sensibility – with two of my dearest friends. Such a lovely evening by sea and by land!
