So far, so good.

Day 4 of Revision Week. I’m happy to say that, with each day, my productivity seems to improve. British students take their revising seriously! Their level of dedication is rather intimidating and, even still, I feel like we’re all atoning for work that should have been done ages ago.

Tuesday I met with my professor to talk about not-so-good paper (not quite failing, but not quite excelling). British universities offer such a different learning environment than American ones! This particular professor is very old school. He seriously had nothing positive to say about my paper. I’m sure that, in an American setting, the meeting would end with some sort of encouraging comment. Here? Nothing. Despite everything, I’m very grateful to have this chance at studying English – it’s a very unique opportunity for a young woman from a liberal arts college in the South!

Although spring has technically arrived in Scotland, you might try telling the weather that! Hail storms and sun, in one day have been common. The chilly weather keeps us all indoors, doing a bit more work that we students would otherwise be inclined to do. For my part, I’ve been hitting the beach every chance I can get. When exams are finally over next week, I’ll be able to enjoy St. Andrews a bit more. For now, I’m finding a comfortable balance between work and play – lifting up everything in prayer. Cheers!
